Horned Melon

This golden orange fruit has severe looking spikes with a lime green jelly-like, seeded interior.  The flavor is unique - both sweet and tart with a brightness to it.

Also known as African horned melon, kiwano, melano, blowfish fruit, English tomato, hedged gourd, and jelly melon.

How to select: 

Like all other melons, the horned melon should be heavy for its size and be firm but not too firm. There should be a little bit of give when you press down near the stem end of the fruit. If the skin gives too much it is overripe.
